. However, given that there is a risk that the changes won’t result in the goal to increase the number of does harvested with a resulting decrease in the size of the deer herd, DNR has committed to review the hunting seasons at the end of year 5 and make changes if they are needed.
OK, Is this the official goal of these proposals? If it is, the doe harvest can be increased and the herd reduced with just one change, and give the Trophey Hunters somethnig they would like as well. Go doe only for a couple years.

Didn't the original idea of 5 year plans come from Moscow?

![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) There never should have been any "stakeholders to start with. ![+1](https://www.ingunowners.com/images/smilies/welcome.gif) ! My glasses fell off my face when I did a double take when seeing the Bloomington city council listed as a "stake holder". Is deer hunting even allowed inside of the city limits in Bloomington?? I honestly don't know.

No there is no hunting of any kind in the city of Bloomington. I'm not sure how they figure these proposals will help. I think Farm Bureau and the city of Bloomington got sold a bill of goods, load of $#!+ or whatever you wish to call it under the guise of "herd reduction". They just want relief from the deer "problem" and don't care how we get there.

Isn't all of this starting to look like the Senate and House in Washington D.C.?

Almost makes you want a refund on a lifetime license! Painful ain't it? The problem with making a lifelong financial committment, whether it be the NRA, lifetime hunting license, etc, is that once they have your money, thay can do whatever they choose to do with it. You may end up funding policies that you are in total disagreement with. Anyone who has a lifetime license has forfeited their option to demonstrate disapproval of these policies by withholding financial support.

Isn't all of this starting to look like the Senate and House in Washington D.C.? Worse. At least in DC we have a few ( like Mike Spence ) looking out for us. In this nobody on the inside is looking out for us. My opinion - The upper echelon F & W boys (excluding Chad Stewart who I believe is just doing as he is told) in the DNR do not know very much, if anything, about deer or deer hunting. They relied on these stakeholders to tell them what is what. That was akin to letting the foxes in the hen house. The stakeholders had to be salvitating at that invitation. The "foxes" came away with their mouths full of our hens and we ended up with feathers. If we dont raise three kinds of hell the foxes will keep right on raiding the hen (deer) house with the IDNR's blessings. This isn't the end of what the foxes are after. Get active and don't mess around with just sending letters to the NRC. Do that, but do other things too. Write your editor. Email Director Rob Carter. Email the governor and tell him how there will be a significant economic impact on cutting deer hunting days. If push comes to a shove, contact your legislators. You can be very assured that the other side is doing just that. It is a shame that the DNR made such a hunter divisionary proposal. Thats what they/we get when the DNR only listens to one side - the foxes.

I happen to have a LTL, and it looks like my investment 'aint doing too good, like investing in a restaurant for a fabulous steak dinner once a year and take your time enjoying it. Whoops, that steak is now pork chops and you have 15 minutes to finish, Bon Apatite.

The best way to address trespassers is to ALLOW hunters on your land. A visible presence by authorized hunters will keep most trespassers out. I agree, but most landowners do not want to sign anything (at least that has been my experience).

I've had good luck having landowners sign a permission card that I carry with me. In return, I give them my name. address and phone numbers, vehicle I drive, license plate number and email address. Kind of a hunter's business card. They appreciate knowing who is on their property, and how to get a hold of them if there is ever an issue.
