I thought this would be an interesting post. Post your latest firearm... I felt a sudden urge to buy this mini-14 back in January. I named it "Barry." I'll let you guess why. Right now, I have a Leupold scope on it. I haven't been able to do any serious shooting with it, but have found it to be suprisingly accurate so far. ( critics would have you believe it shoots three-foot groups at fifty yards) What I mostly wanted was a really tough semi-auto for the inevitable zombie invasion, and I think this gun will do nicely. What's your latest gun?

Had the frame for a while, but this is the last thing I put together. T/C factory .22 match chamber, 14", with a purple heart forearm. The scope riding on top was obtained from our very own dbd870 (big THANKS again, Dave!). Got the barrel and forearm right before we moved out here so I haven't shot it much (a whopping 11 rounds so far), but it already tells me it's more accurate than I am. With a so-so rest and less than prime ammo, I was getting roughly a 3/4" group at about 50 yards. It'll be interesting to see what some good Eley will do. The barrel got a buddy of mine to the "Internationals" in handgun silhouette competition, so I know it's a shooter!

Did some tradin and picked this up about a month ago. Ugly as sin, but it's a shooter. Sub MOA @ 100 yards with cheapo Rem bulk ammo. Cant wait to cook up some handloads for it. Savage 10FP LE1 in .223 with 20" barrel, BSA 4-16 x 40mm Mildot Illuminated reticle, Choate Ultra Varrmint stock and Harris Bipod.

Thanks! See why Im wanting to cook up some reloads for it? If it will shoot the cheap Remington ammo that good, then the right reloads should print some one hole groups. I may be taking the Savage out in the morning to try for a coyote. Its actually a little on the heavy side for a coyote gun, may go to a lighter weight stock later on if I can find one I like.

My latest firearm, purchased back in early July: SCAR! m4madness rules! I also like hardwickbv's .458 SOCOM, as I have one also. It was my last buy. I got it in 2008 and used it to take two deer this year. Back in 2007 m4madness posted pictures of his SOCOM on this site and sent me on a search for my own. Here is it's picture: Edited to add picture.

NEF HandiRifle chambered for .358 WSSM (not a good decision of platform). Nice Buck, omegahunter!! I use to live in Daviess County, just north of Washington on HWY 57 N. What part of Daviess County did you harvest your Buck? When I lived there, we seldom saw a Deer but the Rabbit Hunting was GREAT!

Was hunting just south of Farlen off of US 231. Dad grew up just SW of Plainville on a dairy farm and said it used to be overrun with rabbits. Not so many these days. Still lots of rabbits to be had around the Amish though. I think it has a lot to do with farming practices (fencerows, corn waste on the ground,...).

An area just South of Plainville called "Harbstrit Hill" use to be THE PLACE to hunt Rabbits, basck in the 1960's. My Cousin also owned a farm located just Southwest of Plainville that had tons of rabbits, and I hunted there up until the early 1990's.

On the way home from hunting tonight there were three does standing at the bottom of the north side of Harbstreit Hill. That area is so wooly right now, I don't know how you could get on a rabbit long enough to get a shot off.
