Wow ... that is all I can say about this round. 26" .358BFG barrel by MGM. Burris 3-9x40 Trigger job Hornady 3505 .358 180gr Reloader 10x Shot from a lead sled at 100 yards. Speed deviation was 5fps .... low was 2797 and high was 2802.

5fps is really tight! It's shooting just fine - think I'd hang on to that one.

This gun was a friends .... I am using his as a test mule simply because his has had trigger work done on it.
My encore receiver is factory .... and I will say the trigger is horrible.
This same load goes 2730fps out of my 22" barrel M70 and shoots under 1" at 100 yards.
I have a couple boxes of 225gr Accubonds on order .... seems there is a shortage of the 3505 Hornadys and I need to start playing with another bullet just in case.
IF the group size shrinks any it will be pure luck ..... that is about as good as I can shoot. Even though I am shooting from a lead sled there is still subtle movement in the crosshairs. I hold the forearm so that I can try and limit muzzle jump and mimic the way the gun should shoot freehand ....

Have you been on the Specialty Pistols forum? There's an article or two there about a do-it-yourself trigger job if you want to try that route. "Shot's T/C" is a vendor there as well and by all accounts he does wonderful trigger work. specialtypistols.infopop.cc/eve/forumsThat is some awesome shooting! That's a BR parent case, right?

Parent case is .25WSSM .... trimmed case length is 1.617-8"
I have been meaning to send mine off and have some trigger work done but I just havent done it yet. Going to send it to Stratton Customs ..... my friends encore had its trigger work done there and it is fantastic.

Strattons is a good one too.
I can't keep parent cases straight between the wildcats. ;D Doesn't matter too much for me anyway- I don't have an Encore or plans for one in the immediate future. I do want a carbine barrel in .357 Herret for my Contender- the brass would need to be shortened a bit from the spec of 1.7", but it would work!
Are those Hornady 3505's the single shot pistol bullets?

Yes ... single shot pistol.
I am going to try the accubonds, which should prove to be just as good if not better (especially at longer yardages) ..... but they also cost twice as much.

Dave!!! I found a guy in Specialty Pistold selling some 35 cal SSP's in 200 and 180 grain.
Look in the classy-frieds and there is an ad selling bullets and reloading stuff in there.

Dave!! just send the guy a PM and buy them!! I don't have 50 posts but I bought a Contender out of there last month.
you just have to have 50 posts to post in the sales forums - new rule they added...they are trying to force people to use the forums more I guess.....maybe they figure they will know if they can trust you after you post 50 times!!
no idea what thoughts are behind this rule but it is their website so they can do as they like I guess...

Nice.
Any interest in some 200g Hornady Flex-Tips?
One of the other fellows over in Bicknell has been printing some good groups with them, don't have any velocity data yet.
