I'd like to see the season run a little longer....19 days are not enough sometimes.

I'd like to see the season run a little longer....19 days are not enough sometimes. With a one bearded bird limit, I don't see where extending the season another week or so would do any damage to the flock. But then again I am not a biologists!

It is far from an exact science due to the fact nesting is very weather dependant.
The opener is currently scheduled to fall after peak breeding....based on typical spring weather. That said, our springs have been anything but typical the past few years. This year was a late spring. In 2007, we had 70 degree weather most of March...and freezing weather in April.
Tough call, but I voted to leave it alone. If weather patterns dictated a move, I would support it.....but feel strongly we should be hunting gobblers after peak breeding if possible.

Maybe we can suggest going to chokeless muzzleloading shotguns only!!! I like this and also with pistols or PCR's!!!!

If we can only get one bearded turkey, why not keep it open all year! Or maybe open all year for the wrist rockets only!
