Never heard of it - I'm thinking that you're correct: it was brought back and turned loose at some point.

I read an article a couple of years back that said they were migrating this direction and they expected them to reach Indiana.

THE RUMOR IS THERES A FELLA HERE THAT BRINGS THEM BACK WHEN HE GOES ON TRIPS AND TURNS THEM LOOSE AROUND HERE If this is true, I hope he gets caught by the DNR, and if you know something, you should turn him in.

They have been migrating this way for a long time now. I seriously doubt that someone is bringing them back and releasing them, but you never know about some people.

Yup-who was it?--Andrew Zimmern that had a family feast out of one on the Travel Channel, he seemed to think that it was pretty fair eating.

Well, compared to some of the other things Andrew eats, it might be good. He is the LAST person I would ask for his opinion on a food. He would eat a turd if it were presented to him on a plate!
