If I keep hanging out here, I'll end up with lots of weaponry and no money. Then whatever you do, don't let Dave give you the link for Specialty Pistols. ;D Welcome to the club, btw.

Yeah, I find SP's to be more dangerous than even EBR's! I have about $1100 in mine including optics (I also included the price of 1 mag). I doubt you could do it for that now with the current prices though.

Danf, what was the total price of your last build, thats if you'd like to tell me. Uhhhh, I like to not think about it. ;D Stripped lower- $115 cash, plus gunshow admission last July (good luck finding one for that price now!!!) LPK- ~$60 (thanks for the AIMSurplus link Chico!) A2 buttstock, with buffer tube and spring- $55 +shipping from Midway Bought a slightly used Bushmaster A2 upper for $400 Leupy A2 scope mount, mags, etc- ~$120 or so Had the scope and rings I think I put mine together about as cheap as it could be at the time. If I had to to it over again, I'd probably start out with a stripped lower and just order a carbine/rifle kit from Del-ton that had everything else that was needed. Putting together the gun isn't the expensive part. The expensive part is when you realize how much fun they are to shoot, and then get your wife to like it as much as you do!! ;D They eat through the ammo rather quickly.

I have one on order with Bullberry and we have a barrel club going on SP and I'm thinking a carbine barrel from MGM when my turn comes. (Just picked up a Nikon and mounts for it); after that I'm taking a break - really, I am!

Yep, he's gonna take a break alright. He'll take a break right up until someone lists a good deal on another barrel on SP that he just can't pass up! ;D

He's going to show up at the picnic this summer and it will be a big circle of chairs with one chair in the middle with his name on it.

There were some on gunbroker yesterday. DPMS I believe. If I might offer a suggestion, don't spend the money for one of the overpriced lowers on the online auction sites, instead order one(better yet three) from Essential Arms for $100 plus shipping and transfer fees. They have them in stock and are shipping out within two weeks (most arrive in about a week). The lowers are high quality, just not well known. www.essentialarms.com/You have to call to order and they can be busy at times but keep calling and you will get a lower sent pretty quickly. If you have trouble finding parts give M & A parts a try, they have most parts in stock now. www.mapartsinc.com/

Oh BTW, I no longer own an AR after taking it to the range this weekend. Apparently after shooting it the first time, Carrie decided that it was HER AR and I would just have to build myself another one. ;D I think I may have also lost my 1911 but only so long as I continue to reload some lighter loads for it.

Thanks for the tips and the links guys. I was expecting one from Red Rock arms at a good price, but it doesn't look like that will happen now.
