Congrats on the new Hennessys. You and your children need to practice setting the hammocks up a few times before you venture into the woods. If there's anything I can help you with, just ask.

Thanks for the offer to help. I was hoping they would get here by Friday, but UPS says they are due Monday. The boys have a cabin camping trip this weekend and I figured that would be the perfect time to try them out and see if they all want to get one.
I have sent them the link to your Mammouth Cave trip and the discussion has started about taking a week to go explore the park.

Well, they have arrived. Me and my kids love them. It is quite warm in them in the basement though. I haven't gotten to show them to the scouts yet, but that comes Tuesday. A couple of the girls from my daughters troop has seen them, and it looks like they are all for using these. I see much easier set up and take downs in my camping future.

Glad to hear that you finally recieved the hammocks. When I got mine I set it up in the back yard and slept in it every nite for about a week, my wife thought I was crazy. The best part about the hammock is now you dont have to pack a tent, air mattress or a ground cover, it lightened my pack by 15 pounds.
The scouts are gonna love em.
Happy camping...

I have done a canoe trip with the boys and two trips with the girls so far this year. All the kids love these things except one(he has some motion sickness issues). The girls fight over the extras I have to the point that we have to make them switch each night so everyone gets a chance to use them.
Fantastic product.

that's great for around here....but I have camped in a tent in bear country and found out that up there a tent or these hammocks are basically called "Gift Wrap" for the bears.
The wife has said that she is too old to go behind the bushes so she prefers a camper or a hotel room...I still love to hit the river in a canoe with a tent, some food, water and my 17 cal rifle and some fishing gear and just make my way downstream til I feel like stopping and getting my meat along the way.
And this is right what I would like to have for my trip this coming summer. I am taking 2 weeks and will canoe from Delphi, down the Wabash to the Ohio river to the Tennessee River and end up on the Duck River close to Waverly, Tn.

Sounds like a great time. Look forward to a report and photos.

Uh, is it just me or is that "campfire" in that one pic kinda dangerous? I mean those look like dry leaves and i do not see a fire pit or a ring around this fire!!! What's up with that???

When I was a kid, a fellow gave me the WW2 version of a jungle hammock, mosquito netting, rain fly, made for the jungles of the South Pacific. Never could get used to it. Tight once you got in it, and forget rolling over, even just on your side. Guess I just not the right kind of sleeper.

I get great sleep in these. No back pain in the morning, no congestion because of the angle, rock yourself or a moderate breeze will do it for you I want one! I could rock myself to sleep. I will have my collection of these at the Youth Deer Hunt if you are interested in trying one out.
