I used to spotlight deer for scouting purposes and fun with buddies. Now I rely on boot leather and scouting cameras. The reason I ask this question, is because I know alot of good bucks are jacklit and poached every year. I believe the conservation officers have a hard time catching these criminals for a number of reasons. This week I found 3 bucks with their antlers cut off and carcasses otherwise untouched thrown under a bridge. I have found other bucks under this same bridge years ago. (This is what got me thinking of this poll). If spotlighting deer were outlawed, the CO's would have a much easier job, whereas the poachers would have a harder job ahead. So, with this in mind, how strongly would you support a ban of spotlighting of deer?
P.S: Please dont "tar and feather" me! ;D

I support spotlighting. Heck its a family affair for us sometimes. The kids love doing it.

Banning the spot light will not have any affect on poaching.

No ban! Fun time to get an eyeball on the big boys you normally don't get to see.

What whiteoak said.
If it was banned then every time I was out coyote hunting at night I would have to talk to the CO because someone would call in that they saw someone spotlighting deer. I think it would make it harder on the CO's.

How about putting up some hidden cameras around the dumping site? Be more productive...

No ban. Wouldn't a CO check anyone he see's spotlighting from the road for weapons anyhow?

Give me a break!!! It turns my gut when I hear suggestions to limit/restrict others because a small few don't like it!
How's that for tarred and feathered?

There are more than a few that don't like it. I don't do it but maybe once a year, so don't really care either way. There is air patrol now to catch those guys in some areas, so it kinda sets the poachers up.
