I went over to cabela's to get a few things when i was there there was a outfitter there giving out a sweet hunting package. Now i never win anything but i said what the heck ill try anyways. I jumped through all the hoops(there were enough of them) and i stuck around just long enough to see who won. When the name was drawn i left it wasn't me. (big stunner ) I packed my family and stuff in to the car and started my car to leave. When i remember i got every then i need but a new bow to put stuff in. When i walk back in the the store( kids and wife still in car ) i walked as fast as i could back to get my box. I rushed to checkout to pay WHEN this voice came over the intercom saying THE NEXT HUNTER WITH A CHANCE TO GO ON A HUNTING TRIP OF A LIFE TIME IS.............. WOW it was me the first guy wasn't there so he didn't win. The package i won was a 3 day hunt (open range ) at a reduced price for me and 9 buddies. The hunt i can only take a buck no does. The normal price for a 3 day hunt is 1,100 and i get the hunt for 550 a man. I don't know 9 other guys to go on this hunt with me most will try to take a buck early season or shot gun. I don't get to hunt till dec. 8,9,10 so ill only be able to shoot does all year. All bucks taken will score 125 or better .... i know i know im all over in this post but im a bit stoked about this. Well bottom line is i have 3 spots taken and i have 6 open if anyone wants more info send me a message. Im all about a good hunt with new people. Im not sure if i won or lost but im going to try. P.S WIFE WASN'T HAPPY I WAS IN THERE SO LONG.

$550.00 is about my whole budget for Bow/FireArm/ML season to include gas/food/motel.

For a good time and a good deer that's priceless. True I suppose, but you can get the same for less than $50!

Man, i don't know how to feel about this "deal".
Three days/three nights of FULL accommodations, plus three FULL days of buck only hunting MIGHT be worth $550, but I'd need some pretty strong assurance that the land holds a few deer over 125" and they have not been hunted hard all season.
What you are being "given" is the job of finding 9 guys to fill this hunt. I hope you aren't on the hook for the spots you can't fill.
Unless the land is just unbeleivable and not hunted hard, I would probably pass. Just me, and if you do it, I hope it works out great.

nine guys seems like alot for an outfitter to take on in three days. most outfitters will not do more than 8 hunters on a six day hunt and some even 4 hunters. were does this hunt take place and who is the outfitter.

to answer all the questions yes there are tons of deer 125 or better. We went on a little drive and we saw a few bucks 2 of witch were 200 plus the land hasn't been hunted in years. No I'm not on the hook for any thing when we talked they guessed i would only get about 5 guys(most ppl take bucks early and some plan other trips in advance) anyway but they have 7 guides and the 2 owners who can guide. its 13000 acres I called up there once i got home to see how the first day went they had nine guy/ladies hunting and 3 bucks were taken the biggest scored 183. the outfitter is CK outfitter.
ANOTHER NOTE: when i talked to them tonight about the doe hunt i did find out that once you take a buck if you have doe tags its open game at extra no charge....... etc processing /mounting the 13000 covers 3 counties so that's 6 does and 1 buck you could get 7 deer in 3 days there is a ton of deer out there

Sounds too good to be true to me. If this place is as good as you say it is, why would they need help filling it with hunters?

this is there first year running they have 90% filled i was just a lucky guy i guess. and they probably want me to sign up for next year if i have a good time/hunt so instead of giving them 550 ill be giving them 1100 so it probably a good sales trick.

do you have a link to their website or a name for this outfitter? 13000 acres is a bunch of ground.

Yeah, I would want to research the outfitter a little. This sounds like a sham to me. You only have to find 10 other guys. If they have had 10 guys hunting that 13000 acres all season before you get there then...

FYI - I am familiar with that operation, it is a brand new start up deal. They just leased a bunch of ground 90% of which is bald crop fields from the biggest landowner in the county. Some of that ground is within a mile or two of me.
I am familiar with folks that have been hunting those farms for years and there sure as heck haven't been any 200" bucks come off them. 125" - 140"deer are possible, but odds aren't great. Too much pressure and not enough cover to hunt.
Good luck.
