Hey all,
Well I found this forum by chasing links on the web. I only started hunting last year . I wasn't lucky enough to get one last year but loved every minute in the field.
One chance was a big doe that saw me reach for my bow. Man was she
ed. She stomped her front hoof and snorted like crazy. My friend Bob watched the whole show from the trees on the other side of the alfalfa field.
The other was a nice buck. Well not a monster but he would have been cool to get for my first deer. He was on the other side of the county ditch and I couldn't be sure of the shot. He was in a range I had practiced at but there was some old weeds and cattails between us. I wasn't sure what would happen to the arrow going through the weeds. There were not a lot of weeds I could see almost all of him but though it better to pass on the shot if not sure.
The good news is Bob has seen both of those deer back in that same alafa field this spring. ;D
