saw and heard more birds than any previous season, the gobbling peak was a couple weeks before the season though.
I harvested a 2 year old bird on the 2nd day of the season. plenty of jakes and hens and other gobblers in the area to make me feel good about the fall and next spring.....

preseason scouting really helped me this year.
I knew right where the birds roosted and went off the roost and that (along with a healthy dose of good fortune) was a big part of my success this year. I am a firm believer in year round scouting now.....

That's news to us here in West Central IN. There were 6 nice mature birds taken on my dads land by me, my brother, nephews. Gobbling every morning, multiple birds all and all another great year in Indiana.
I hunted Kentucky also it was a little slow due to a major cold front when we were there, nut me and my buddy doubled on the third day of the hunt and took two nice 3 year old gobblers.
I honestly didn't notice anything out of the ordinary this year. Great Year in the turkey woods!

Our property in Crawford county was weird this year. One day lots of gobbles the next day none. We never seem to catch up with them. We did connect the last day fo one but was only 18 lbs. They never really seem to respond to the call like last year, and for sure seem to avoid the decoys which was really different from last year.

Perry county was poor hunting this year. I did get a bird but it wasn't easy. If season opened two weeks earlier down here it would make a difference. Before season opened I got several trail cam pic's of strutters. By the time season opened if I got a pic of a tom with hens it was rare.
