Had my Son out on a youth hunt this morning and we had 4 mature gobblers come in. They were gobbling for 2 hours below us before our guides were able to get them to come in. When they looked like they weren't going to come any closer we gave my Son the go ahead to shoot and he came up short. It was the first time he had actually shot a 20 gauge shell and it didn't bother him. We used a gauge reducer for practicing that allowed him to shoot a .410 shell in the gun. My plan was to stay and hunt until noon Sunday but he wanted to come back. He is only 8 so I guess I can't be to disappointed. Sitting still until 11 am can be hard for a kid. Thank goodness for gameboys.

The fact that he sat through it and GOT A SHOT is great!
He will get hooked pretty soon.

Sounds good like a good time. Sorry he didn't connect, but there's still a lot of time to get one.
Good Luck!

That is pretty young. He did real well to get a shot off. I'm trying to hunt w/a kid who has AD, it's tough.
