Darin, I'll keep my eye out for dogwood for you. It's not something we cut down often, but it can happen. I've got a good sized chunk of hawthorne sitting in the barn right now that we cut down in December. Brought it home for turkey call use. Unfortunately, I'm down a table saw right now (burned out the motor ) so I can't do much at the moment. BTW, you still at the same address as a year ago? Thanks Dan...Yeah,it's still the same address, atleast for a little while longer.

Your calls went over really well at the banquet! Thanks for your donation.
I would like to order 2 calls from you slate no preference on wood with striker. Also I like the yellowood and the curly maple what are there surfaces? Thanks!

Darin-we occasionally get an "odd-ball" type of tree here on campus that needs removed, Ever since Danf has been doing box calls I try to keep a better lookout for stuff like that. Right now I still have a few chunks of some pecan that I have just been using on the smoker-they are probably too short for Dan's box call making but might be something that you would want to try??? Lost a persimmon a few years ago that I wished I had kept chunks of .

The yellowheart is glass/glass and the curly maple is slate over glass...I'll get going on your slate calls and strikers tomorrow...Thanks!

If it's atleast .75"-1" thick and 4" wide I could use it for pots(or big enough to make strikers;1"x1"x8" or grunt tubes 1.5"x1.5"x6").I'd also like to find some spalted persimmon and some more apple or anything else unqiue.
