I finally got around to shooting my rebarreled Savage 35Whelen at 100yds and after getting the scope where I wanted it I put 4 rounds into .75". This is better than it did as an 06 with the factory barrel. The guy I was with shot it twice put 2 rounds into 1 slightly oblong hole. If you're looking for an inexpensive barrel upgrade I definitely recommend them.

Ive swapped barrels on a Savage 10 ML II using a home-made barrel wrench. Its a very easy process to do. On my other Savage guns the only one i would consider swapping a barrel is the .223 but being its a short action gun the only other cartridge i can swap to and gain anything is the .308 and i have no need for that caliber here in Indiana. Plus my .223 is so scary accurate i hate to mess with it.
For a while i was looking for a Savage long action just so i could build a rifle using an A&B barrel from Midway but seems there are a lot of others looking for them too.
Dave, Glad you ended up with a great shooting rifle. h.h.

I hope that they offer a .375 Ruger barrel in the near future, I would be all over that one.
Does anyone know if the new dirt cheap Stevens rifles made by Savage will work the same as the standard 110's and 111's?

The only difference is the Savage have Accu-triggers and the Stevens do not. h.h.
