For those of you that cut up your own deer, what do you guys do with the remaining carcasses? I know what i've done in the past, which needs not to be mentioned Lug

best thing you could do is refrigerate it till trash day that way it gets buried in a landfill, but i know some people who pu it out for coyote bait.

I bone-out my deer, so when I am finished I break down the carcus & bag it for the trash man.

Leave the big rib cage in your front yard with a great big old dog gnawing on it. That should keep the bill collectors away.

If you do return the carcass to the "wild"........please don't just dump it alongside the road...at least drag it back 20 yards into the woods so walkers/joggers don't have to look at it. Most of us remember that story Channel 8 did last season on all the deer carcasses dumped along the Morgan county road.

I agree 100% with BSU on this one! Please don't throw you carcass out along a road somewere! I do believe in throwing the remains back to for other wild animals to feed on, but I put in bag lined boxes when I process the deer an drive back to the area I hunt and throw it in a wooded area . I cleaded up two deer carcass about 30 yards from were I park sometimes at one place I hunt. Someone road dumped them. This hunts every hunter out there. Yes it is easier to bag up and put it in the trash, but I like to give back, the opossium needs to eat too! Charlie

We use them and the waterfowl remains to set up "body pile" sets for coyote and fox. Usually end up with a few poddums as well.

I break down the ribs and leg bones along with a bunch of scraps and slow cook them on the old charcoal grill. I throw a bone or two to the dogs fresh off the grill and box the rest to supplement the dog food for the next week or so.

Decomposing carcusses can be and are bad for the water quality especially in low flow conditions.

Don't throw the carcass in the river.... it is illegal, you are polluting the river, and it takes over a year for it to break down. If you are a canoeist going down the river, it is just an advertisement on why hunting should be banned.
