How very, very sad....prayers for that family...ATV kills boy, 7
Four-wheeler flips, pins childBy KATE BRASER Courier & Press staff writer 464-7622 or braserk@courierpress.com Tuesday, May 29, 2007 A 7-year-old boy died after the four-wheeler he was driving on his father's rural property in Evanston, Ind., reportedly flipped on top of him Sunday. Charles John "Charlie" Tuggle was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to law enforcement officials. Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation officer Kurt Souders said the emergency call was made at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Souders said the accident happened on property at 8341 N. County Road 1250 East in Spencer County. The boy reportedly drove the four-wheeler to a ditch near the house where he liked to fish. "The dad said he looked outside the window of his home 10 to 15 minutes after the boy left and did not see the four-wheeler, so he went to look for him," Souder said, adding that's when Charlie was found beneath the four-wheeler. "It looked like the child had kind of nosed it down the ditch and then (the four-wheeler) flipped on top of him," Souder said. www.courierpress.com/news/2007/may/29/atv-kills-boy-7/

Sad. I feel for the family. I just can't imagine letting a 7 year old ride alone.

The obvious solution is to outlaw ATVs. Won't someone think of the children?

Any charges of "neglect of a dependent" get filed here? the ATV did not kill the child, MAJOR human error did.
