My wife bought me an Arctic Cat and trailer for X-mas. Never had any experience with one, so really can't say more about it. Other than I am very much pleased with it. I really don't know why I didn't get one sooner, but never had much of an interest. Now with having several heart problem I see the need. Also not as young as I once was. Lou

Congrats to you on your Christmas present. Sounds like you are married to a definate keeper. Ditto on the health issues. It is great to be able to continue to hunt the rougher areas & not worry so much about getting back to the truck @ the end of the hunt. Cell phones & ATV's have made it possible for guys like us to continue hunting.

Mullis56, I never paid sales tax on my Polaris 700 EFI I bought in Tenessee this year when I registered with the DNR to ride on Public roads in "some" counties in Indiana. You would have to register the vehicle with the Indiana BMV before having to pay sales tax.
If someone was to wait until the new model year comes out you can check richiespowersport.com and they clearance all of last year models on there web site and each day the price lowers. You can get quite a deal. A phone call will reserve your price. They sell by volume and for wholesale price.

You won't have to pay sales tax now that you are registered, but you will begin receiving notices each year for property taxes owed on it. Just like the silly dog tax.

THEPROCESSOR or BOWBO -
Have either of you had started motor problems on your Raptors?
I have replaced the one-way but since i up to compression to 12-1 my starter motor seems to go out alot. Have you guys had this happen?

Nope, my engine is stock and I have yet to have any problems with the oneway or the trans. I keep hearing that the 01's have a weak 2nd gear in the trany and are prone to breakage, but it has yet to happen.
Your startors could be giving out because the decompression pin is not in correctly or has broken, putting the full load or the 12:1 compression on the startor.

Yes I have had the original "one-way" go out on mine, but have not had problems since then with it nor the starter. I even run a 686 big bore, and have had no further problems out of either. I'm like TheProcessor, it probably has something to do with your decompression pin!?! Processor, my '01 tranny grenaded!! So I know exactly what you're talking about. That is when I went into the motor for some upgrades! LOL Do you happen to belong to any of the ATV forums? I am on Bluetraxx (but never post there anymore, use to alot), I'm on AtvConnection (never post there, use to alot), and I am a Moderator on www.THEATVCOMPOUND.COMHere are all of my mods on my Raptor............ (PS> I am RAPTOID on the forums) www.theatvcompound.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1287

Bowbo your Raptor is amazing. Most people I know that completely deck their quads out usually over do it but yours is sweet.
I guess I need to take mine into the shop to have the starter looked at.
What do you guys think of the 700? I am looking to get a new bike before to long but I don't want to downgrade to a Z or go with a 450 that doesn't have reverse. I haven't got to see a 700 in action yet so I don't know a lot about them outside of the magazines.
Thanks for the help Bowbo.

Thanks greenecohayse! I know of a couple peeps that have the new 700R, and they love it! And they haven't run into any issues with them at all yet.
TheProcessor, how do you like those YFZ shocks on it?? Better than the stock boingers? I went with wider a-arms and the Works triple rates w/remote rezzies well before the YFZ's ever came out.

Definatly a huge improvement over stock, Bowbo. My stockers were completly worn and these make it ride like a cadalac. More stable in turns, and doesnt nose down as much when decelerating and braking. Not to mention that for 200-250 bucks on ebay you have a completly adjustable compression, rebound, and preload shock. All around a very good upgrade to any raptor.

Here is my Baby. I just purchased her a couple of weeks ago. She is by no means a speed demon. The big tires play hell on the power. But, when it comes to trail riding in the woods and in the mud all I have to say is look out. It is a 2003 Honda 450S Foreman. It has 27"x10"-12" Itp Tires on the front and 27"x12"-12" tires on the back, with a 2" lift to boot!!
