Well it looks like me and the boys will be headed to either Glendale or Patoka to dove hunt this year since we never got drawn at Kankakee.Does anyone know the condition of the fields at either place this year?Is there any other place that offers same day drawings?thansk Chuck

Glendale does have some flower in. Drove the fields Friday evening to see how they looked. 2-3 have decent flower in them, but plenty of weed mixed in with the flower. Corn for cover. Not a lot of birds flying there yet, but they've not cut anything either. Doesn't look like they plant much, if anything on south end (M fields). The ones I saw which had flower in them were all on the north side.
Have not see Patoka's fields. Checked Blue Grass out on Sat. Absolutely awesome fields of flower, only one of which had much if any weed in it.....but, no corn for cover. Buddy and I watched a couple of hundred birds come in during the hottest part of the (2:30-3:30).....Which probably means I'll get my rejection letter for the draw tomorrow!

Chuck:
Very welcome. Not sure about the no sho draw, but I'll check with the Sugar Ridge FWA property manager tomorrow (they handle the admin for Bluegrass FWA) and let you know.

Chucker. I was through Glendale this morning and saw only a few birds sitting on lines. The two fields I looked in were not holding birds (9:30 am).
I am going to run by them again next Monday and will let you know what I find. I am not sure about the Hovey fields.

Chucker:
I was through Glendale's fields this morning around 10:30 am. Fields have been cut, but looks like only within last week. Odd thing was that they have used a pull behind rake/windrower to pull all the cuttings into single rows about 10-15 inches high. This is something I have never seen before (actually saw them doing it in one field). While I do not know why they were doing it, it looked like it would defeat the purpose of spreading out the seed.....looked more like it was being buried in all the weeds they were piling up.
Not a lot of birds moving through when I was there, but saw a few hanging on power lines adjacent to the fields. I'll be there Sat., Blue Grass on Sunday and Tuesday.
