Text for the Day -- Isaiah 60:18-20 ---------- Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise. The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you by night; but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun shall no more go down, or your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended.
Devotional ---------- The prophet points forward to a time when God will be so present and so much a part of their lives that it will be like living in perpetual light, joy and peace. This is precisely what our spiritual journey is about - recognizing where God is present in our lives as light and love. In Christ God has made this promise more real. Celebrate the light of God in your life when you become aware of it.
Prayer -------------- Give me eyes and heart to be aware of your bright and loving presence, gracious God. Amen
