Text for the Day -- Matthew 9:27-31 ---------- As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, crying loudly, ‘Have mercy on us, Son of David!’ When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to him, ‘Yes, Lord.’ Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘According to your faith let it be done to you.’ And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus sternly ordered them, ‘See that no one knows of this.’ But they went away and spread the news about him throughout that district.
Devotional ---------- When Jesus said, "I am the Light of the World," he did not just refer to the spiritual insight and enlightenment he gives. To those who have experienced Jesus healing of the eyes, they also know the healing power of Jesus' presence for the whole person, body, mind and spirit. Jesus comes to give us light, the light of life in its fullness. Let his light shine in your darkness, whatever that is.
Prayer -------------- Illuminate those areas of my life that need your light, O Lord. Amen
