Text for the Day -- Psalm 62:5-7

For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be
shaken.
On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge
is in God.
Devotional

The psalmist gives expression to a deep truth related to prayer as a
commitment to rely on God. Waiting is hard and we get impatient
rather than discerning the timing of God. Patience calls for a great
faith, trusting that God is a rock. If you commit your life to the
Lord, you commit the whole thing. Notice the reference to silence,
which implies no complaining or second guessing, only waiting.

Draw me into the deep silence, O God, and help me find patience
through trust. Amen
