Text for the Day -- Proverbs 14:14-18 ---------- The perverse get what their ways deserve, and the good, what their deeds deserve. The simple believe everything, but the clever consider their steps. The wise are cautious and turn away from evil, but the fool throws off restraint and is careless. One who is quick-tempered acts foolishly, and the schemer is hated. The simple are adorned with folly, but the clever are crowned with knowledge.
Devotional ---------- Proverbs seeks to provide insights into living with wisdom and not folly. Wisdom leads to the virtuous and fulfilled life. Folly leads to destruction and grief. Foolishness is described as perverseness, naivete, and being quick-tempered. Wisdom turns from evil, plans in steps and gains knowledge. Which do you prefer?
Prayer --------------- Lead me into your wisdom, gracious God. Amen
