Text for the Day -- Colossians 4:2-5

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.
At the same time pray for us as well that God will open to us a door
for the word, that we may declare the mystery of Christ, for which I
am in prison, so that I may reveal it clearly, as I should.
Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the
time.

Paul closes his letter to the Colossians with the above
encouragements and requests. It is a good teaching on prayer. Be
devoted to prayer and focus on thanksgiving, and intercede for the
preaching of the Gospel and Paul's ministry. Thanksgiving plays a key
role in all of Paul's teaching about prayer. A deep sense of
gratitude is crucial to the Christian life and devotion. In many ways
your degree of gratitude reflects your awareness of grace.

respond with thanksgiving. Amen
