Text for the Day -- Psalm 55:16-18

But I call upon God,
and the LORD will save me.
Evening and morning and at noon
I utter my complaint and moan,
and he will hear my voice.
He will redeem me unharmed
from the battle that I wage,
for many are arrayed against me.
Devotional

Prayer is not just a sometime thing. Notice the discipline and the
regularity of prayer for the psalmist - evening and morning and noon
time. His life and needs are regularly held before God and he trusts
that God will take on his burdens. Later in the psalm in verse 22 the
psalmist says, "Cast your burdens on the Lord, and he will save you."

Help me to hear your call to disciplined prayer, gracious God. Amen
