Text for the Day -- Galatians 4:8-11

Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that
by nature are not gods. Now, however, that you have come to know
God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the
weak and beggarly elemental spirits? How can you want to be enslaved
to them again? You are observing special days, and months, and
seasons, and years. I am afraid that my work for you may have been
wasted.

Paul writes about a problem that is always with us as the church,
that is, why do people turn away from God after having tasted the
grace, love and peace that comes in knowing God through Jesus Christ?
Having tasted the freedom of grace how can they desire to go back to
slavery in their spirits and minds? That is a challenging question
for all of us. How are you handling the question?

Keep me in your loving grasp, O Lord. Amen
