Text for the Day -- Malachi 2:10-13 ---------- Have we not all one father? Has not one God created us? Why then are we faithless to one another, profaning the covenant of our ancestors? Judah has been faithless, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the LORD, which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god. May the LORD cut off from the tents of Jacob anyone who does this-any to witness or answer, or to bring an offering to the LORD of hosts.
And this you do as well: You cover the LORD's altar with tears, with weeping and groaning because he no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favour at your hand.
Devotional ---------- When God's people get separated from God by their rebellion God works to bring them back. God enters the world and makes a way to deliver and restore his people. In Advent we recall God's promises to enter our darkness and separateness and draw us to the cleansing and redeeming light of God. Jesus has opened a way for that to happen again and again in our journey. Welcome his coming to bring you life and renewal.
Prayer ---------------- I thank you, God, that I can never exhaust your grace and love for my life. Renew me today. Amen
