Text for the Day -- Psalm 7:9-11, 17

O let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
but establish the righteous,
you who test the minds and hearts,
O righteous God.
God is my shield,
who saves the upright in heart.
God is a righteous judge,
and a God who has indignation every day.
I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness,
and sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.
Devotional

The psalms reveal the piety of a people who have a deep sense of
dependency on the living God to protect them and lead them into a
righteous and just future. God is righteous and just. So, they hope
for that for themselves, confident that God can and will make that a
reality for them. Let us carry that hope and prayer into the world
today.

Give me a heart for justice and righteousness, O Lord. Amen
