Nobody carries it where I live so I whipped up a big batch last night. Man it was fantastic this morning. Probably none of you outside of the Cincy area know what I'm talking about, but it is good stuff.
If I ever get a deer I'm going to make a big vat of venison Goetta.

Its a type of sausage made with pork, beef, onion, and steel cut oats. The seasoning is pretty much the same as breakfast sausage.
You form it in loaf type pans and when it sets up you cut slices off and pan fry it.
And it is G-O-O-D.

Next time put up some pics so we can see. I like looking at food on here. Now if someone could invent "scratch and sniff" monitors ;D ahhhh, wait a minute! Maybe that monitor is not a good idea

Well, I have about 3.5 lbs of it hanging out in the freezer. I can take some pics of it the next time I cook breakfast.

Chico,
What the hell are steel cut oats? There are only two kinds that I know of, old fashion and quick. h.h.

From Wikipedia... Steel-cut oats are whole grain groats (the inner portion of the oat kernel) which have been cut into only two or three pieces. They are golden in colour and resemble small rice pieces. [1] Steel-cut oats are also known as coarse-cut oats, pinhead oats, Scotch oats, or Irish oats. I got a bag at the Jay-c grocery, a subsidiary of Kroger from this brand... www.bobsredmill.comI have also seen them at Meijer in the world foods aisle in a can in the Irish/Scotch/English section.
