What is your favorite "go-to" artificial bait when you have thrown everything in your tackle box with little or no action?

Rubber worms or salamanders. Less fish than a spinnerbait or rapala type lure, but better quality IMHO.

I am a live bait person myself. I have about 25 different styles and sizes of hooks in my bag, but u have to do something when the fish arnt biting, right. I like to throw spinnerbaits. I have two that are blue/chartruse/white in color, with double willow blades. One is 1/4 oz and the other is 3/8 oz. Sometimes the fish prefer one size over the other. It seems to catch alot of fish in my region.

Great thread deertracks. My "go to" in spring and summer is definitely a Rebel Crawdad in its various sizes. Use the teeny craw size and you can catch just about anything.
If that doesn't work then I usually go for a 4" Charlie Brewer Slider worm texas rigged for bass, and you can't really beat a beetle spin for panfish.

Kelley's striper pre-rigged worm in red and white for bass.
A white bodied Bergie worm with 1/16th ounce pink jighead for panfish.

Rubber worms in all sorts of bright colors, rigs, lengths, & weights. I prefer the "firetail" color scheme.

If I was needing to catch fish to eat, I'd have to go with simple lead head jigs w/ twister tails.
For "fun", it's hard to beat top water fishing with a jitterbug.
