Actually do a lot of fishing on the Wabash River and let me tell you when your driving your boat at 15-20 mph and a two to three pounder jumps up and hits you in the head its not cool.... I wouldn't know but a friend of mine just about got knocked out of the boat by one of these. His wife wouldn't stop laughing at him.... But I have caught about 5-6 of these just like that. I have never seen them like on this video but always see 4-5 a night or early in the morning. They jump at the sound of the motor. It's kind of neet. Freeked my wife out once. She wasn't to big on fishing and one of these jumped in the boat the first time I took her out and she screamed bloody murder....lol... We call them Japanese Carp. Not sure if that's what they are or not just what I was told..... They are a problem fish too.... We toss them on land when they land in our boat...

I believe the fish you are referring to is the Asian Silver Carp. There have been reports of fishermen being injured, and in some cases knocked out of their boat by these fish. The Asian Silver Carp can reach lengths of over 3 feet and weigh over 100 lbs. So far the largest reported Asian Silver Carp caught in Indiana weighed 16 lbs. Can you imagine being hit by a 16 lb fish at 50 MPH! You are doing the right thing by tossing them on the bank. As long as it's WAY up on the bank. Indiana law requires these fish, if caught, must be killed, NOT returned to the water. www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/fish/ais/SILVER%20CARP.pdf
