I realize this seems far off, but we have actually been working on this since the 2007 camp last April.
September 19, 20, 21. At Coon Hunter's Conservation Club, in Batesville In. Open to all youth 8 to 17 years old, 12 and under with an adult.
We will have the usual Hunter Education Class instruction, with all disipline nomenclature taught on the range. As the instruction is completed the kids will take right to the firing line and get the oportunity to practice their new skills. We will be using a 300 lane covered firing line range this year, so weather is not a concern. Sunday is still under consruction, but preliminary plans are for Treestand, Orienteering, and ATV instruction
Cost is a bit higher than last year, but still reasonable.
Youth campers are $40 each and any acompaning adult is $25 each.
The camp cost is to cover meals for the weekend and used for "prize" items for the kids, as well as hearing and eye protection.
We are sending out Corporate letters asking for support and donations to sweeten the prize pot for the kids. If you have a company that likes to help educate the youth of our State, please feel free to mention our camp.
I hope to see some of you come September
This should be on the DNR web site very soon with contact information to sign up.
