District 9 Youth Conservation Camp
Our Annual Youth Conservation Camp is scheduled for September 22 - 24 at Sand Creek Conservation Club. This year our participants will cover Firearms Safety, Treestand Safety, Archery, Map Reading, Trapping safety, and Safe Animal Handling.
We will have approximately 5 hours of live fire range time shooting Rifles, Pistols, Shotguns, Muzzleloaders, and Archery.
Campers are to be at the Sandcreek Conservation Club by 6:00 PM Friday. Supper will not be served on Friday so please make sure campers have eaten before they arrive. Campers are required to bring change of clothes for two days, toiletries, towel, sleeping bag, pillow, and a rain poncho. DO NOT BRING FIREARMS!
The Camp will wrap up at 5:00 PM Sunday. Parents should be on time or slightly early. Any children or spouses left at the camp will be raffled off.
While at the camp, campers are encouraged to participate in all activities. To encourage voluntary participation prizes are awarded. Campers are awarded points for enthusiastic participation; however, points are taken for unsafe actions or lack of participation. At the conclusion of the camp team scores will be tallied and the winning team will be awarded prizes.
The fee for the camp is $75.00 for each camper and $35.00 for any parent who wishes to stay at the camp. Parents wishing to stay at the camp should bring all items a camper must bring. All camp fees must be paid in advance to secure a spot in the camp.
