I hunt Switzerland, Ripley, and Jefferson county. I have taken deer to the pleasant school house in the past, but someone told me that Bob is no longer at the school house.
Does anyone know where he relocated or a quality processor in the area?
Thanks,
Rod

*** He actually is going to a new facility over on RD. 925 other than that I don't know nothing else at the time.

I really like Bob. He is a good guy. He also has a memeory like an elephant. I see him maybe 1-4 times a year and he always calls me by name. Hope he finds a new place.

Guys, my processor is located between Milan and Osgood. He does a real nice job. He cubes all the steaks and shrink wraps them, tubes the burger, makes jerky and sausage also. He either charges $60 or $65. If you'd like his name, let me know and I can get you his number and such. He's a heck of a good guy as well.

Wayne's Meats in Milan does a good job. I do all my own now, but he was 65$ to cut up a deer last time I checked including tubing the burger, wrapping loins, steaks, or roasts. The old man across the street usually has a key to get into the cooler for late night and Sunday drop offs. Sausage, cubing etc is extra. 654-3682 is the number, they are on Josephine street in Milan about a block from the post office.

Dan, I was told on Monday that Wayne is now charging $75.00. I've never taken one to him, but heard he does a pretty good job. I take mine to Harold Shelp. He is out on the back side of Pierceville. Couldn't be happier with his work. He does it out of his shop which is right behind his house which makes it nice for a lot drop off.

Man is seems like every year it goes up another 5 dollars. Plus they keep and sell the hides. And sell all the bones and other waste. I wouldnt want to open one, but man its high. Glad I do my own.

Me too! That's one less expense I don't have to worry about deer hunting. There's plenty to spend money on without paying to have your deer processed!

Just how long does it take for you to process a deer?Couple of hours..maybe three or more hours...I processed more deer than I care to remember doing and I tell you it's a lot cheaper (not to mention that most guys don't have a warm place to do this at either) to have it done by a butcher,or someone that does deer only than doing one yourself..Say it takes you 3 hours to do one deer, then you've got to clean up all your tools such as knives, saws, pans, grinder, floor then plus you've got to get rid of the hide, head and everything else..I'll pay the 65-75 bucks no problem!!!!!

One problem I have is I know I dont get my deer back. I take care not to get half of the woods inside of it. Other guys drag them through heck and back. I still use them when its warm. I still do my own summer sausage, and bologna and jerky. That is where they really get you was around 7-8 for a roll of sausage. I can make 25 lbs for 14.99.

Isn't there a deer processor over near Cannan IN? I sure am sorry Bob Schwagmeier closed his shop at the Old Pleasant School, I liked his work and his personality. I was appreciated by many.

Dan, I was told on Monday that Wayne is now charging $75.00. Yeah, that is probably about right. It has been two years since I've had a deer cut up by him. $75 is to rich for me. Plus like someone on here said, Wayne cuts up so many deer (especially during gun season) that there is no way he could guarantee that you get back the exact deer that you killed. When I first began deer hunting I used him because I had no idea how to take one down myself, and the shop is only 3 blocks from my home. Just a sidenote here......Even doing one by myself now doesn't take near 2 hours. There is something to be said for the satisfaction one gets from seeing game go from the field, to the freezer, and then to the plate and doing it all yourself.
