Hunting-Indiana.com Home Coming - Part 2At Johnson County Park www.johnsoncountypark.com/June 16th 9 AM (EST) until ? Picnic lunch at 12 noon. We will be in the “Welcome Shelter House”. The Johnson County Park campground is right across the street from the shelter for ones that might want to make a weekend of it. A playground is behind the shelter for the kids to have a ball on. They do have a Golf range. Not sure if that is a course or just a driving range for the duffers amongst us. There is a hiking trail for the adventurersome ones. On that weekend they will be having an Antique Farm Implement show/meet. So you farmers, bring your cameras. It is only 7 miles to the Edinburgh Discount Mall for the ladies who like to shop. We will be doing some serious shooting at the Atterbury range just across the highway so bring your “hardware” and whatever shells/cartridges that you will need. Maybe a little “friendly competition”? There is also an archery target range, so bring your archery equipment. Maybe a little “friendly competition” there too? For lunch, bring a covered dish, soft drinks and whatever eating utensils that you will need for your family. Some members said that they will bring such things as fish, brats and maybe some deer meat. There will be burgers and dogs for the less venturesome and the kids. Since this will be a family function and we will be doing some shooting please do not bring any alcoholic beverages.I’m looking forward to putting faces with names. Hope everyone can make it… WW

There is a driving range as well as an 18 hole golf course located there. I have played the course before and it is not a bad little course. The archery range is a little farther east down hospital road, right before the bridge that goes over sugar creek. The range is on the north side of the road, but I have never shot it and don't know if there are targets already set up or not.

Looking forward to it, and I'm also excited about the hiking trail, which I didn't know was there! If I can pull my boyfriend away from the shooting for a while (probably highly unlikely), we may have to go on a hike!

Can I send a cardboard cut out of me? I have to be gone to my step daughter's wedding. I would much prefer to meet the people on here.

There was some talk of shooting clay pigeons. Does anyone know whether they have a trap house there, or is it a bring- your- own throwing equipment? If so, does anyone coming have a thrower they can bring? All I have is a hand thrower and this old arm gets tired pretty quick.

I'm pretty sure they have a trap and/or a skeet field or two.
I'll check to be sure.

Wisdon teeth out the day before. Still going to try and make it. It'll be more fun on oral opiates! Just take it easy, don't suck on anything, and everything should be okay, but we'll be thinking of you and your recovery whether you are there or not!

Whoo Whee! Close to a 4 hr drive one way. I'll try! I do all my golfing with a shotgun............ ;D You'd be surprised how far that little white ball will go when swatted with an ounce and an eighth going 1200 fps! For putting I tone it down to 7/8 oz @ 1050 fps, and for driving it's 1 3/8 oz @ 1380 fps. It's putting the divots back that's a bi..h er, pain! ;D

Much as I would love to come the funds are just not available (gas $3.36 today) I will send a recipe that would be my choice to bring if I could. Old Settlers Beans (For old settlers or people who just want to smell like one)
Brown and drain ½ lb hamburger ½ lb bacon 1 med onion diced
Then add 1/3 C brown sugar ½ C white sugar 1/4 C Ketchup ¼ C barbeque sauce (we like Sweet Baby Rays) ½ tsp black pepper 1 Tbsp mustard ½ tsp chili powder 1 can kidney beans –drained 1 can butter beans-drained 1 can pork and beans
Mix all ingredients together and bake for one hour at 350 or six hours in the crock pot
Optional ingredient: your favorite hot sauce to taste. Recommended is Tabasco or Justin Wilson Jalapeno. Either one will add flavor and a little fire. If used add a little stir thoroughly, wait, and taste. Too little you can add more, too much means I have to come help you eat them. Feel free to use this someone!
