If I could get a new car now I kind of wanted an Acura, since they make a good quality car and SUV, but my GM-loving boyfriend shot that idea down pretty quickly because it's not "made in America"...I'm all for supporting American commerce, but when it's such a large investment as a car, I think I'd rather pay for the highest quality vehicle, no matter where it's made. I'm with your boyfriend on this one, I for one don't buy the hype of foreign car superiority and certainly wouldn't be willing to foolishly throw more money after such hype, in the case of an Acura. I would think by now most people would have an understanding of how biased the media can be, and would do their own research on the matter instead of simply listening to what others are saying. Mbogo--I didn't learn anything about Acuras from the media, I just knew that people who had them (such as my parents) had better experiences with them than I am having with my little Ford Focus station wagon that always has some kind of problem with it. People who love their Colorados as much should really drive them more often!

I guess I'm the only fella here that says pee on the Jap car makers..... Call me still bitter, but I still have that little Pearl Harbor thing stuck in the back of my mind. I'm not "blaming" any current Japanese worker/citizen for what happened 6 decades ago, but I'm still not going to intentionally do something that's going to support their economy more so than my own. If I'm going to go drop 30k into a truck, you can bet your sweet piece of apple pie it's gonna be a Ford. Not sure how many parts are foreign, but my F-250 was assembled in Kentucky. To date, the Asians don't build anything over a half ton truck with the exception of Nissan, and I don't care for the looks of it.
