There is tons of public ground in the west that any of us can hunt for free, and muleys are pretty visible animals. They generally inhabit pretty open country, so, if you can get a big one located and study him for a few days / weeks / seasons, you can get a crack at him. The problem we midwesterners have, is we don't have time on our hands to scout in advance, like a guy that lives out there. That is a huge edge. The likelyhood of us going out west for a week long hunt and whacking a big dude on public ground is pretty slim. And no doubt, he is one heck of a hunter as well.
If you've never hunted out west, I would highly recommend it. With a little research and effort, you can do it successfully, very economically. And if you want to spend a few more bucks, paying an outfitter and hunting private ground is well worth the cost as well.

Randy is Randy. He is very good at archery and a very dedicated hard working bowhunter. Steiny your are right about tons of public land, but Randy being a professional bowhunter has more time to devote to his craft. In other words he has our dream job (At least mine). Randy and Chuck Adams are legendary enough they don't have to do the TV thing to get attention. I respect that. I couldn't hunt with a camera crew. I like being by myself too much.
