Wal-Mart deserves to lose lots of business from sportsmen and others on account of the management's apparent ignorance...I'd have nothing to do with Wal Mart if their prices weren't so low on some things!!

Woody,
I was at Wal-Mart yesterday morning too, and also went back to the Sporting Goods section and saw no gun for sale. While I would never buy a firearm at Wal-Mart, I find it rather unfortunate that they would suspend sales of them. I rather buy my guns at Rajo's or Strictly Shooting anyway.

Yep,I have found that their sporting goods department getting worse every year.I was there yesterday just browsing at the turkey hunting stuff, they had it piled in with baseball and other stuff, nothing like it use to be..I think I would be better off just to make a road trip south to Bass Pro(maybe an hour's drive from here)We only have one gun dealer in town now,and he's the highest guy around.. If you are looking for a good place to buy guns you should hit up 256 sport garden on 256 near Austin. Dale has by far the best prices, and I've been to a LOT of gun shops. Bass Pro is high outside of their "Classics" sales. I'm right here by it if you need a price check on a specific item.

There is a Buck and Jakes that sells guns, bows crossbows and all kinds of hunting stuff. I bought my last two pistols there.
