genesis273, A couple of recipes that will change your mind. I take all my older squirrels, and pressure cook them, then pull the meat off the bone. At that point, the meat can go back in the freezer, for future use. Also at that time I've taken the squirrel and thrown it in the crockpot, added mushroom slices, chopped onion, and Swwet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. Cook it on low, for about 6 hrs. YUM!! A variation is to replace the BBQ sauce, with Teryaki sauce, and do the same thing.
If you are into chicken pot pie, you can make that out of squirrel meat. Hope this helps.

Hey HBJ, we gonna resurrect the Limb Chicken Brigade for another season? Maddog and Maddog's Son are in.
Got a new rifle to try[Ruger American Rimfire] and a Nikon P3 EFR scope to play with.
Not sure if I'll post pics this year. PhotoBucket is screwed up and wants money that I'm not gonna pay, just to post a few squirrel hunting pics. Gotta check out something new[flickr, imgur?].

3-4 after they are pressure cooked and deboned. Depends on how big a pot pie you're making.

My son came up for what may be his last day of squirrel hunting this year, due to job commitments. It was a beautiful day in the woods. All the squirrels seen were on the ground. My son nailed 5[his second limit ever]. So, 5 more for team#1 LCB. Brings his total up to 16. I didn't get a one.... oh well...

Been 2 1/2 wks., since I been out. Score 1 more for Team#1 LCB. Brings my total up to 18. Big ole male, with the most beautiful tail I've seen in a while. Forgot my camera, but I cut off the tail, and brought it home for a pic. Picture doesn't do it justice. I salted it down and let it dry over the winter.

Decided to go out for a couple hrs. this morning, since it was so beautiful out. Score 2 more for Team #1 LCB. Brings my personal total up to 15. Bothe squirrels were head shots with my H&R Sportster. Couldn't believe it, but when I was cleaning the first squirrel, I found the slug, just like my son did last Wed. A first for me.

Score 4 more for team#1 LCB. 3 for maddog's son and 1 for me. Brings me up to 13 for the season. Cool breezy day, but it wasa nice to be in the woods with my son. My one, with the single shot. My son cleaning his three. When my son was cleaning one of the squirrels, he found the slug. Shot her under the nose, and it went all the way through, and lodged in the hide about an inch up from the tail. All my years of hunting, this was a first on finding a slug[we both use solids]

Score two more for Team #1 LCB. Maddog's son scored two this morning. I saw a couple, but couldn't get a shot. Then the humidity took over, and I got way too hot. So we quit for the day.
