Well, gotta bring back the Limb Chicken Brigade[LCB], for another go, this year. Put down Maddog, and Maddog's son, for another season. We'll see if HBJ and Omega hunter come along and sign up, directly. If they don't, assign teams, as you see fit, Woody.

Well, another squirrel season has passed. Congrats omegahunter, on an awesome season! My woods, this year, just didn't seem to have the squirrels, plus 3 of my favorite woods got saw milled. Oh well, 6 1/2 mos. til limb chicken season, again!

Add 1 more for team #1 LCB. Been quite a while since I'd been out hunting limb chickens, but it was too beautiful a day not to go. Only saw 2, but nailed this well furred big ole girl. She looked so good, I took her to my local taxidermy shop, and......I'M HAVING HER MOUNTED! Haven' had anything done like that, for almost a decade. Decided that was my Christmas present to me.

Score 4 more for team#1 LCB. 3 for maddog's son and 1 for maddog. Saw several, just couldn't get a shot. My son and I were searching a very tall oak tree, for this gray, towards the end of the hunt. I spotted him, and shot. He came tumbling down, splash, right in the creek! My son rescued him, for me. Ever heard the phrase "like a drowned rat"? Well, here he is..... Brings my son's total to 9 and mine 10, for the season. Here's my son, with all 4 on the tail gate, before cleaning.

Nothing fancy, although sometimes I use garlic pepper seasoning, with the flour. Also, I cook the squirrel for about 7-8 min. on a side. Then I transfer it to a casserole dish, with a rack inside. I put a cup or two of water in it, and cover with aluminum foil. I put it in the oven, at 300 degrees for about 30-35 minutes, then take the foil off and leave it in the oven at 400 degrees for 10-15 mins. to re firm the breading. Meanwhile, with that going on, I make my gravy.

Yes. Yes, they were taken in my kitchen. No, she doesn't like squirrel, she thinks they are tree rats, go figure. Thanks! I pressure cook all my old squirrels, at 10 lbs. pressure for 30 minutes. then I bone the meat, and put in freezer bags, and refreeze for future use. Any chicken pot pie recipe will work, just substitute the squirrel for the chicken. Here is a good recipe that you can use. www.backwoodsbound.com/zsquir55.html
