So when is the earliest that we will find out if this will go through and pass? 1 month 2 months or what. IF the bill passes, it says it will go into effect July 1, 2016. I'm not sure if that means that the Director of DNR would have to create a season for rifles this year, or not. My gut feeling is it would be this year.

Deep down inside, im a little sad that I wont have the opportunity to drop a deer at 400 yards. I know i can make that shot, though the average "needs all 5 shots to kill a deer at 20 yards, then wont track it" hunter probably couldnt and shouldnt take that shot. Though being a data driven individual, i have yet to see any statistics that say this shouldnt happen, only opinions. Yet, even though i am confident with a 400 yard shot, i really dont see myself ever carrying a 12# rifle with a 16x scope to go deer hunting. Pretty much my thoughts, exactly.

The bump-fire stock is available for the AR platform, as well...so it can already be used for the 458 SOCOM, 450 Bushmaster, 50 Beowolf...etc. All of these are already legal, but yet, you don't see people out there with them. Why would this rule all of sudden change that?

Took out my buddy from Alaska yesterday for his first deer hunt. This young doe came running in with a young buck chasing her. My buddy was able to get a good shot on her and she didn't go far.

Nice 8 pointer I saw last week. Watch him slip on a rock at 0:22, haha.

My last hunt of the season. It was different, frustrating, but still a great season. Let's hope for a last second chance.

Saw 2 bucks this morning. 1 was a nice 8 pointer that was tempting, but knowing he will almost certainly survive the rest of the season, I let him go. He will be easy to spot next year, as every single one of his points pointed "outwards", including his brow tines. Of course I didn't take the camera this morning.

I use Zick's in Berrien Springs, MI , they make the venison hams there, they are really good.

I use Glier's Meats in Covington, KY. They are more-famous for their goetta.

I have a smoked, sugar cured venison ham that is going to be rocking the table. Please pm me the recipe for this. I have wondered if it could be dune. Was it the smoke or cure that preserved the ham? My processor makes them. Will post a picture Friday.

I pocket carry daily, but with a pocket holster and my S&W Shield has a safety. Pocket carry has been the easiest for me over IWB and ankle options (I've tried countless different holsters with different weapons).
