I’ve seen some posts from far southern Indiana on a morel mushroom hunting site. No doubt it’s coming, seems a little earlier than normal which makes sense given our January and February. I’m in the north part of the state, won’t start looking till mid April. My earliest find was April 15, can’t remember what year but maybe 6-7 years ago.

And a bonnet head shark. Never did catch any more stingrays, but we did eat the daylights out of our grouper and snapper from the charter this evening. Blackened on the grill, real good stuff.

Couple new additions to the variety. Here’s a decent pompano.

No, never eaten a stingray, much less know how to clean one. The locals say the snook are just now starting to show back around the beaches, lucky for us.

My youngest with a whiting from the beach, did it all by herself. Beach fishing has been pretty good, a mixed bag of sheep head, snook, jacks, ladyfish, a couple don’t knows, and the nasty catfish.

Down in Florida for spring break. This was from a charter on Tuesday. Used the same guy for the last 8 years, this was probably our slowest year, but still enough for a good fish cookout.

I get it with the traffic, it is a pain in the rear. But I’d trade our January/February for some warm weather and good fishing. Heading down to the Naples area on March 14. Mom and the kids beach it most days, I drown a few dozen shrimp. 1 charter trip thrown in too for good measure. We’re all happy.

My wife and daughter (Junior in high school) got to go to this game tonight. She has a college visit there tomorrow. My daughter plays/loves basketball, they both said it was an awesome time. I’m know she’s an exceptional talent, but I can’t stand that Clark girl.

How much ice do you have left?

Give thanks to God that it was benign! Funny how we don’t always count our blessings till we’re faced with something like this. My father in law has always said “what if we only had tomorrow the things we gave thanks for today?”

Like Featherduster said, you’re hooked. You’ve already shot more birds than me this year, but here’s my 2 cents anyway:
Stick with mallards and woodies for decoys to start. Maybe a set of teal if you’re really itching to spend more $. That’s probably most of what you’re going to see, and what you have around your area.
Autoloaders are nice, but not one thing wrong with a pump gun. I have a Browning gold hunter that’s over 20 years old. And a Remington 11-48 that’s older than me. They both have scuffs, scratches and dings, but they work. Anytime I switch back to a pump now, I forget to pump. Get something functional, not pretty.
You’ve already proven to yourself that you can be successful without any more than you have now.

I know Mennonite isn’t quite the same as Amish, but never had a bad Amish meal.

How can a pair of waders breathe underwater? Obviously, they don't breathe underwater. But when you're not submerged in water, the neoprene makes you feel like your pants/legs are wet after an hour or 2, even though they're not. Kinda like rain wear in the 80's before Gore-tex and the like.

I’ve had breathable for several years now, and prefer those. They’re better in early season when it’s warmer, and when it gets cold I just throw my bids on under the waders. Best of both worlds. Breathable are way more flexible too. Only con that I know of is that the boot insulation is probably better in some neoprene brands. They’re both gonna get leaks eventually.

Took the 4 males to the vet on Monday, things went pretty well, learned a lot as to how this whole rupture thing works/happens. They are now officially barrows. Other than some swelling, they seem to be doing fine.
