Well there goes my pick for the brackets. Clemson over Arizona. It was a great game though. The Clemson couch played abd graduated from Harrison High School in Evansville and coached at Castle High School here in Warrick County. Got to root for a local! Yep. And coached UIndy in the 90’s

This is the first gun I ever owned. I took my first game, mostly squirrels and rabbits, with this shotgun as a kid in the 60's. My Grandpa gave it to me just before he passed. His father had given it to him. It's a Remington Model 11, mfr'd in 1920 per the serial number. In recent decades, I've also used it for upland birds, ducks and geese. But I've never taken a turkey with her. As far as I know, neither had my Grandpa nor his Dad even had an opportunity to hunt turkey with this boomstick! My grandson and I were discussing the upcoming season and we happened on the idea. It's fixed Modified choke. No doubt it will be sporting since I think I'll need to get the gobbler within 25 yards or so. I'll pattern some different loads and see what happens.

Indiana State Men in NIT; Purdue Women in NIT; Indiana Women in NCAA; Notre Dame Women in NCAA; and Purdue Men in NCAA. Wouldn't it be amazing if Indiana teams won them all?? As I’ve been on the job traveling, I’ve really enjoyed watching these games. The women can sure get feisty! ISU is an interesting team to watch for sure. I just recently learned that the NIT tournament is older than NCAA tournament.

Very strange.. I had a dream last night. I was driving across the bridge between Henderson and Evansville headed north.I looked over the side and there was no water but there were three cars on the river bottom. Then I woke up. Not claiming any prophecy just noting the weirdness of it. I just want to know what you ate at The Friendship Diner the day before!? I might have to try the same meal the next time I’m there!🤠

After some research and reading, I discovered that the rifle is a Model 99, EG manufactured in 1948.

Did you find reasonable priced ammo yet? So far, I haven’t really looked for any ammo. The rifle came with two boxes of Remington. Once I can get to the range, I’ll shoot that and then I’ll see where I go from there.

I was watching ESPN sports this morning before leaving for Ohio. They played a bunch of replays from this year’s men's NCAA tournament. And I realized that there is one player that I really like to watch. That big boy DJ Burns from NC State! I'm just curious, if you had to pick one player from the whole tournament, even if they are out now, who might that be?

I just finished cleaning and reassembling the rifle. I've now got the action working as smooth as butter. Quite a beautiful rifle for its year. And I mounted the Lyman sight. Now I need to get it to the range and test her out.

Back home for a day so I started working on the Savage 99. And I succeeded in breaking the action free. I believe that I was overly cautious in trying to work the action initially. I tend to come at problems like this without forcing things. However, I did find 2 issues that may have led to the resistance I was feeling. I found that the "chicago" type screw was not properly set as there is a specific notch for fitment as shown in the pic below. It also appears that the previous owner had used something that looks like Red Loctite on the screw and I doubt that is a normal procedure. I also found that there is a burr under the safety latch that wants to catch and that was most likely the main problem. Initially, I had slid the safety Off and all was well. But when I slid it to the On position, I noted that it was catching when I tried to move it again. You might be able to see the burr at my pointer: Hopefully I have some time in the next few evenings to work on the rifle.

I just got word that my sons in-laws, who live about a half mile from us, south Indy have a huge electrical problem. I don’t know many details, other than something happened with a AES, the provider and they sent 220 directly to their house and some of their neighbors. In the process, they called an electrician, after the fire trucks left, and they were told that they should install a whole house surge protector to prevent this in the future. I did not even know this was a thing. But they have a mess on their hands since pretty much anything with a circuit board is fried. Currently, their biggest issue is no furnace and they’re dealing with the insurance company and other vendors at this point:
I don’t have any experience in this world, I’m just looking for any input on what all this entails. I’m thinking I need to install one myself. Or would it be best to hire a licensed and qualified electrician? Open to any feedback.

I watched a ton of videos. I’ve read many blogs and articles and so far this thing has me baffled. It sure seems like it should be an easy fix. But it’s just the craziest deal. Maybe I’m being too cautious and careful. Not sure. I simply can’t get the lever action to budge. It might be time to get another set of hands and eyes on this rifle. So I imagine you've already seen this about the safety and how it works to lock the trigger and the lever but just for the sake of redundancy... 1:28 Is the nub he mentions next sticking up? Or down? I wonder if that nub sticking up was bumped while it was up, would it prevent the rest of things from working? www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdI69ZqDMBoYep. I had viewed that one. But I rewatched it just to see if I had missed something. Nothing new to me. The nub he speaks about is not sticking up. And then, I still can’t be sure as to whether it might have something to do with the lock up. I’m on jobs in Arkansas and Missouri boot heel so it’ll be a bit before I can mess with the rifle. I’ll plan to stop by a few gun shops and gunsmiths to gain more knowledge. Maybe I can find a working model to better educate myself.

Ok. I'm actually messing with yall! One of my vintage BMW motorcycle/parts suppliers gave me this. I'd seen it sitting in a cabinet decades ago. As he's aged a good bit, he felt it needed a new home! Covered in dust and cat hair so I had to clean it up a bit.

Ordered a mag loader assist thing today, always gave a sort of nasty look to those things but dang. My finger is still sore today and it is supposed to work with several guns. Got a big mag for the G20 and some extra grip screws for a 1911 at the same time. Gave that gun a thorough cleaning and no significant leading. Brush, gun cleaner, and a couple wads cleaned it all up like new. No biggy. I think I may have found the cause of the few hiccups it had. My reloads are at the exact recommended COL. In the 510 magazines they just barely touch the end of the magazine when they are being loaded. May be some contact there when firing, slowing just enough to hang things up once in a while. Next time I reload a few I'll make 50 maybe .005 or .010" shorter to see if I can tell any difference. I think I might copy another holster and just make my own for this gun. Curious, what do you mean by copy another holster and make your own? Would that be leather, composite or something else?

I am looking forward to the range report. What caliber is it? It’s 300 Savage.
