The dirt around my property is so hard and dry I can jump up and down on it and not leave a mark. And I weigh 250. The ground is all cracked and rock hard. After the wheat was taken everything dried up real good. Hardly no rain in Niagara this season. Deer couldn't leave a track if they tried. John P.S. but I know they are there. They always are.

At least you've seen 3 deer , the heat has been keeping them so deep into the trees here that I literally haven't seen one since Spring except for a doe crossing the highway once . I saw them in a woods while squirrel hunting .

I have been seeing bucks EVERYWHERE the last few days. Running in groups of 5 and 6. Some impressive ones too. But then even the small ones look impressive with all that velvet.
Also seeing my share of does and fawns.
I'm going out tomorrow to work on some stands and check my trail camera. It's been out for 2 weeks now, tucked back in a shadded travel area. Should be a bunch of pictures on it.

I get to see them everyday and will post as soon as I see one out of velvet. Should be any day now.

No need to say sorry I thought it was very funny and clever. I know a few guys that hunt like that, but I wouldn't hunt with them.

I have actually seen an increase of deer activity in my area! New trails popping up and an increase in prints. I actually watched a doe eat cherries off of the ground for about 30 minutes. She was easily in bow range too! I logged some areas on the gps and cleared some shooting lanes as well. I would like to locate some spots in HNF as well, before the season gets underway.
