On the 2011 Prius..
Light comes on intermittently. As well as the “squiggly road light”,.
Car still brakes ok but feels almost like the old non powered brakes.
Any ideas in cause?

Would suspect wheel speed sensor or wiring to one of the sensors

Also could be a wheel bearing going bad.

Quick Google search reveals a few common causes: small brake fluid leak, wheel bearing, wheel speed sensor, or needing a fluid flush.
In several instances, those 4 things were addressed and solved the intermittent lights.

Put a piece of tape over the light so you can't see it, problem solved Stand by for more mechanic tips.

Put a piece of tape over the light so you can't see it, problem solved Stand by for more mechanic tips. Lol…. Believe it or not I did just that on my low tire pressure light.. A piece of black electrical tape did the trick. You can’t even tell the tape is there.. No doubt a bad sensor as tires are inflated properly. To me that tire pressure reading is a worthless add on.

You think it's bad on a 4 wheeled car? Now they have them on semi's. Try 10 tires!!! Any significant temperature change and we see a rash of trucks come thru. The trucks have a readout of each tire psi. Drivers with common sense dont panic when all or some tires are a few psi low. Then there are the ones that come in when one tire is a pound below the threshold. 😡

Not completely useless as it will cause many other things to stop working on some models. Like your cruise control won't work if a tire sensor is making the check engine light stay on. With some models.

I had a similar experience a couple years ago. Turns out squirrels had chewed into the main computer cable underneath. I was getting the squiggly symbol also. Seems they use a soy product for insulation on the wires. Several different automotive MFGers use the same soy associated parts. Critters love it!!

Woody: Have you owned the vehicle since new and have lived at that address since purchasing it? If so, and you didn't get a notice on it, I'd yell loudly.

Esshup,
I got the notice in 2018. Put it in the car folder.
It was not a recall, although it should have been when you’re dealing with brakes. It is an extended warranty. They would not replace it unless it went out. The extended warranty was for 10 years after purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever came first. We all know it’s not the age, it’s the mileage that really matters on parts going out. We’ve had the vehicle for 12 years and 94,000 miles is very low mileage. I’m pretty sure if I had driven it more the part would have quit sooner and got in under the 10 year limit.
If I did not have bad luck I wouldnt have any luck at all.. 😩

Especially if you tell them you will never buy their brand of vehicle again. Have received multiple calls from Ford customer service that have either repaired under warranty or split the cost to repair the vehicle. Worth a shot.

I'll do a tap dance on their desk if I have to. We have been a Toyota family since 1986 starting with a Cressida, 2 Camrys, a 4Runner and the Prius. All bought brand new

AND tell them that you own an on-line forum and that you will be making sure everybody on-line knows about their poor treatment of you.
