Just chiming in, not a pity party or anything, but i've had to get a second job to make ends meet because my hours got cut at job #1 in addition to everything else getting more expensive. Anybody else?

Anybody else? I work any and all part time gigs I can. It helps but, it's rough living that way. My pay hadn't got cut but, it sure hasn't gone up either.

While gas has gone down, diesel seems to stay north of $4.00. Why is that?
We are transitioning to Ford Maverick hybrids at work for the supervisors. We all have Duramax 3/4 and one-tons as daily drivers. Those trucks are all paid off and will be kept for towing trailers when needed and snow removal.
The first Mavericks we ordered were right at $29k and the most recent are $33k. Compare that to a decent used heavy duty truck! I have to admit, although I poo-pooed the idea at first, I absolutely enjoy mine. It's quiet, comfortable, quick, easy to park, etc. I'm averaging 42-44mpg. My Duramax gets around 15.

I can't imagine how hard it would have been if my three sons where young today. The cost to raise kids with these crazy high prices is not a good combination. I foresee a lot of big companies filing for bankruptcy in the next year or two. People not buying big stuff, striking, lack of kids and young people as workers. They don't exist. Three plus kid families are getting rarer and rarer. It's been this way now for 30 years. We will need a lot of mom and pop stores with there couple kids working and one or two hire on. It looks like I might be working one more year before I retire. I am planning on going to 4 days a week next June for one year. It was 3 days per week.

But Biden’s handlers are wanting everyone to go total electric homes. No natural gas allowed. Meanwhile China is building coal fired electric plants right and left. I’m total electric, but have geothermal heating/cooling. Compared to my neighbors that is about $50 less a month on electric bills.

But I did get a 3% raise in Social Security.. that isn’t close to covering the inflation rate. I’m losing ground every year.
It’s going to be a race to see if I have enough to get to passing on day! 😉
But the good Lord will provide.

I got tired of the 1 to 3% raises working for the State, so I had an excellent opportunity to leave and jumped on it. Also some years were a 0% raise across the board.
Current employer gave us all a 2% raise in the middle of 2022 because inflation had risen so far. Then they moved our annual raise to September in '22 instead of January of '23 to get more money into our hands quicker. I am truly blessed to work where I do.

Anybody else? Had a second job through the summer, will probably pick one up after rec league baseball season. Biden and his minions claim to have "created millions of jobs". Data showed that 72% of the jobs was people returning to work from the plandemic. A lot of the remaining 28% was people getting a second job to just make ends mee.
