I did a final check of the .308 earlier this week. 3 shots each at 100, 200 and 300 yds showed the center of the group to be 1" high @ 100, 1" low @ 200 and 7.5" low @ 300. 130g Barnes TTSX @ 3150 fps. If I want to be really quiet, the Hornady 190g Sub-X bullet is zero'd at 50 yds and again @ 100 yds. That has a MV of 1003 fps.

That 130 ttsx is my favorite deer bullet in the .308

I’m considering taking my $20 raffle win gun out. It’s a Savage Axis .243. Only hold back is a lot of posts I see the .243 doesn’t leave much of a blood trail. You guys that hunt with .243s what bullets do you use that provide a decent blood trail? Or is it all about shot placement? 100 grain Remington Core-Lokt works well for me in my Ruger M77 243
