My brother Bob passed after a long struggle from a brain tumor and the side effects. He was 79. Bob leaves behind his wife of 58 years, 5 children, 12 grandkids and 6+ greatgrands. 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Bob was best man at my wedding and Godfather to my son. We ran beagles together for several years, deer hunted, shot muzzle loaders. Together we coached my wife into a pretty darn good shot. I would tell him where her technique needed tweaked and he would ease over and make suggestions. He helped me replace my windows and hang siding. He was there to ramrod several family roofing jobs. He was always there to help with anything that needed done. I am missing him already. Bob is on the right with Elmar I am on the left with Rosie.

I’m so sorry for your loss, my friend! I could tell, when you talked of your brother, as we had lunch the other day that you both had a special relationship. Cherish the memories. You’ve had some tough losses in recent years. Hold the faith brother! Hug the grandbaby! May God give you divine peace during the days ahead.

I keep pulling up your post here just to check out that photo! If only it could talk. We know that had to be a great day of dog runnin’ and shootin’ and camaraderie!

Bob was always my hero. I loved Dad but he had Dad things to do too. Bob and I discussed all sorts of things while running hounds. His son that made the Deans list every semester at IPFW. The son and his younger shooting bottle rockets at semis passing their back yard. You guessed it same kid. He did go on to sit in missle silos in South Dakota and play with the Air Forces cruise missles. We let them make 3 rounds then pick them up and go find another rabbit. Fun times. Hunting we could put down 6 hounds but we always gave the bunny an out. If he could get by us hunters and shake the dogs he went free.

Sorry for your loss. I have an older brother about that age. He also is in poor health, afraid I’ll be looked at that before too long. Prayers sent to you all.

Bob was laid to rest yesterday.
Thank all of you for the notes of condolence and likes. I probably would have been at his camp in Friendship with him.
