I haven't filled my feeders since early spring. No intentions of filling them any more this season either. Way too dry and I'm worried about spreading disease.

Out filling feeders and seen buzzards , found this fawn on edge of old livestock pond. This is pond I was working on this spring.( Completely dried up. ) Plan on digging it out with neighbors backhoe if continue to not get rain. I pray this is not EHD already, but alarm bells are starting to go off. Will send Joe pic and message in a.m. If it’s EHD already DNR needs to start a feeding Ban soon to try to get ahead of it…. There isn’t a lot that can be done! EHD isn't spread by contact , nor from deer to deer, not sure a feeding ban would have any effect? "IF" it is EHD and midge is here , water sources are the breeding grounds. This old pond is going to be dug out, whenever buddy shows up with trackhoe. I have 3 ponds and couple water troughs out for deer. I usually treat late summer , but just ordered the pesticide to go ahead and start.

Correct…as long as the feeding isn’t near a water source it’s fine you don’t want deer to conjugate where midge are. Not all Deer that get EHD die…

Yum. Love them.
On a side note concerning deer hunting. Either my son (which I think it is) or I got drawn for deer in Arizona. If he got the tag it is Coues whitetail late Oct. if I got it it would be Mule deer mid Nov. either way it’s gonna be fun.

Well, I got home from vacation tonight and received some not-so-great news. The guy who leases the field across the road from me for farming stopped by and told me he had unlimited depredation tags. He's killed a few deer already this week and says he plans to keep killing them until September 23rd. Asked me if I wanted to help, I respectfully declined.
Not sure if there's anything I can do to save any. I could put bait out on my property to try and hold them, but a field full of soybeans is going to win out.

That’s a bummer.
I didn’t think the DNR issued “unlimited nuisance deer. permits”?

That’s a bummer. I didn’t think the DNR issued “unlimited nuisance deer. permits”? Unlimited doesn’t sound correct the Deer report explains the permits and how many issued per county. I would contact Joe to get better information about this case.

I think I would check with a CO on that never heard of unlimited depredation tags!!
