Gobble this news up, turkey hunters! We’ve got the perfect opportunity for you. Indiana Private Lands Access (IPLA) Hunters can now utilize IPLA properties to hunt turkey, along with small game, deer, and waterfowl. Important details for the opportunity are listed below: 1. Hunt windows are 3 days long, depending on when you register. 2. The system resets at 8 p.m. ET on the final night of each cycle. 3. Hunters can sign up for the same property only twice in a row. Remember that hunts cannot be claimed/reserved in advance. As IPLA continues adding properties to their system, new access opportunities will likely be added—stay up to date by checking back often. The Division of Fish & Wildlife looks forward to seeing you out there! www.in.gov/dnr/fish-and-wildlife/hunting-and-trapping/indiana-private-lands-access-program/experience.arcgis.com/experience/2dbd4b4812e0460ab304db518f9c9bcb/page/WELCOME/

I browsed the map, it looks like there are quite a few properties available for youth turkey.
I think this program is a good thing, and I'd like to see it continue to grow. I don't really like the registration system though - I think the ability to reserve ahead of time would make things a lot easier for folks to plan.

I missed that some how.

I missed that some how. There are a decent number of properties in several counties up for youth turkey. Look at the map, and make sure the filter is set to turkey. I don't know how many will be available for statewide turkey season, each landowner gets to decide when to grant access and what for.

There isn’t a Turkey option in the filter…..but if you press on dots in map it will give information on that location. BTW….There is only one location that allows deer hunting at the current time…..must places are small game only which includes Turkey

I did notice the only deer hunting area as well. It will be interesting to see if that# grows. I think DNR has been trying to get this program off the ground for a while. We'll see how this goes.

Due to my superior technical/IT abilities I was able to filter just turkeys! LOL, more like the blind hog finding the acorn. Talking to our biologist, I would think the number would grow, perhaps due to the amount of $ they are getting (I believe from a federal grant). For multiple species landowners could get up to $100/acre! Crazy

I guess....I just know I was able to check either all or individually deer, small game, turkey, or waterfowl and it would then filter those locations on the map.

The map is a lot easier to use on a desktop, but you can filter by turkey only. I gave up on my phone.

I had trouble on my phone also. My Desktop works and I can see and zoom in and out. Also view the topo maps of the area.
In the Northeast there are only 3 properties to hunt. So as I understand the system you can only register after 8:00 pm the night before a 3 day period begins. It may be worth a try one never knows. I may have to go for a drive and check them out.

Can you only register before the time period starts? I think only the night before or during the 3 day window.
