So even though this year is not even a month into it I'm ready to fast forward to next year and here is why.
1. A week ago my brother in law was admitted to the hospital around 4:00 in the morning. Wasn't getting enough O2 (he's had a multitude of health issues over the years).
2. Last Tuesday I started having a sore throat which quickly progressed to a fever and all the tell tale signs of covid. I'm better now after about 3 days of wanting to sleep.
3. The very next day my good friend came down with covid and he is quite active and when he told me that he was having trouble breathing and couldn't move more than 10 feet and had to take 30 min. to catch is breath I started getting worried about him. I believe he is slowly on the mend.
and last and quite possibly the most disturbing was:
Yesterday a good friend of mine, not the one mentioned in bullet #3, got a call from his ex-wife that their 14 year old had attempted suicide. And the reason I say attempted as of right now he is still alive with no brain activity but is breathing on his own.
So I can easily say 2022 you can suck it.
Also woody if not allowed please delete.

You’re good..
We all need to vent sometimes. Times are tough.
I’ve had 5 family members that have had Covid this year so far.
It was a two to three day recovery for all of them. Why? It is my opinion is that they have a doctor that went out on a limb and put them on Ivermectin Z-Pack and various vitamins. I was extremely concerned about my oldest daughter and her husband are obese and he is pre-diabetic.

Lots of trials going on in your life. Thank the Good Lord that you all endured and overcame the first 3 bullet points. Prayers for the final one.

I hope it's not 2020 "too".
I'm really sorry to hear about your friends troubles. A good friend of mine with 4 kids had one really lose her way. Drugs, attempted suicide, etc. Absolutely no reason why, the 3 others are model kids (in college now). Some things are beyond the parents control.

2018 made me a believer in "live every day like it's your last."
April - my 45yr old cousin died of brain cancer. September - Wife's grandfather (99) died. October - my 58yr old cousin died suddenly of a stroke. November - MIL died after three year battle with cancer. November - My father had kidney stones removed after several days in the hospital. November - My mother had a partial colon removal and was in the nursing home. November - Our youngest daughter had emergency appendectomy. December - I was informed that my first glaucoma surgery had failed and I would need a different procedure, which didn't work worth a crap either.
It was the first year since 1988 that I didn't deer hunt. November was so awful and hectic that I didn't really notice.
Not an any way trying to make light of anyone else's situation or experiences. However, going on four years later, my family is healthy and has learned to appreciate what we have and our time together.

We get to find out next month if my wife has cancer. She had 3 strokes in 2017 and she was just 35, she went flat line twice on the operating table with her 3rd stroke. I truly believe The Lord knew if he took her from me, I would have been a complete mess and our kids would've been as well.
I'll be honest, I wasn't much on His Faith but he has definitely opened my eyes and truly turned me into a believer. The old saying " The Lord works in mysterious ways" isn't just a saying for our family.
I'm sorry for the way this year has started for y'all, but you truly need to keep an open mind and most importantly keep your Faith. If for some reason you may have lost Faith, no time like the present to regain it.
The Time is Coming y'all, and all of our Prayers WILL be answered and our fears will be a thing in the past.
If I some how strayed off subject, I'm sorry but this was on my heart and felt like I needed to include it.

Hang in there. You basically have nowhere but "up" in your future. Sometimes we are tested to the fullest, that's for sure.

I agree with deaddeer. The Good Lord won't put more on your plate than what you can handle, but HE will however test your faith.

I learned once in an “empathetic listening” class that there is no answer you could give someone to truly solve their problems. The best thing to do is truly listen. And I think you found the place for listeners. Just remember, no one here will eliminate your obstacles or problems…but we can all truly relate and listen. It’s frustrating for me when people interrupt and try to answer and solve my problems for me…I just wanted to freakin talk dang it! Spill the beans, let it out, heck yell at us in all caps. It does help to put it down on paper (or forum board ). I am always reminded by a good friend / coworker: “this too shall pass”. You’ll look back one day and know you’re different because of what’s going on today. Just make sure you’re happy when you remember how you reacted…
